BIO 109 - Human Genetics

Genetics is the study of the inheritance of traits through examination of their variation. This course introduces the student to the application of the principles and practices of classical and post-genomic genetics to the study of human heredity. While studying the science of human genetics, students will encounter major issues of socio-political importance including the human genome project, genetic diversity, biotechnology, DNA profiling, genetic disorders and eugenics. This course is intended for the non-major.
