PHE 169 - Health, Physical Education and Safety for the School-Age Child

The course provides students with a basic knowledge of health/safety concepts for school-aged children, including topics such as child abduction, school violence prevention and intervention, and alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse. In addition to traditional games for this age level, a series of low organization games includes both physical and mental activities related to cultural diversity and integrated academic skills. Methods of adapting games for the challenged child will be included. Required of teacher education students.
