PHE 176 - Women/Sports in Film


This course will utilize various screenplays and documentaries to educate the students of the history, struggles, and progress of women in sports. The films will make students aware of the stereotypical view and portrayal of female athletes in the film industry throughout three decades. The issues of gender, gender identity, race, cultural distinction, sexuality, and class will be highlighted in the films and will be traced with the Women’s Rights Movement.
