FOS 300 - Capstone Seminar in Forensic Studies

3 cr.
Capstone project that could include but is not limited to an internship or field experience in a law enforcement setting or the criminal justice system, a laboratory research project that provides advanced understanding of forensic analysis in a particular case, or an in-depth research project on a contemporary issue in forensic science. Students will create a portfolio in which they reflect upon experiential learning through this project, integrating the academic work from the other classes that make up the certificate, and discussing how their work in the Forensic Studies certificate program has informed an understanding of the role of scientific investigation, sociology, psychology and political science in the criminal justice system.
