The Mathematics Department offers courses that develop students’ critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills. The study of Mathematics begins with an acquisition of fundamental knowledge of mathematics with courses in calculus, linear algebra, and computer science while exploring applications of mathematics and computing to social and natural sciences. The major prepares students for graduate study in pure or applied mathematics, mathematics education, computer science, statistics, business administration, actuarial science and also prepares students for secondary and primary school teaching, medical or dental school, or employment upon graduation in business, government, or industry. The minor complements other subject areas that utilize mathematics and computing skills such as chemistry, biology, economics, education, and business.

Professional Studies in Education: Mathematics
