The Psychology Department provides a multi-faceted approach to the study of human behavior cognition, and emotion. There are four full-time faculty and several adjunct faculty who provide a stimulating and dynamic learning environment.

Through a series of required courses and electives, students who successfully complete the Psychology major will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology (Content),
  2. Understand and apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation (Methodology), and
  3. Apply ethical principles, psychological principles, and critical thinking to personal, social, and organizational issues (Application).

Honors students conduct original psychological research studies which are presented to the college community. Students who qualify may be invited to join Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. These experiences and more are available to those who choose to major, minor, or take electives in the Psychology Program.
