Adolescence Education (Gr. 7-12) Certification

Note:


*Course requires students to complete 15 to 30 hours of work observing assisting and/or teaching children in a school setting. The adolescence education program requires a minimum of 100 hours of such fieldwork.

Additional Requirements:


In addition to the above listed requirements, students with History majors preparing to teach Social Studies on the adolescence or middle school levels take 9 credits (3 courses) in Economics, Political Science and World History. English majors preparing to teach English on the adolescence or middle school levels take ENG 171 - Masterpieces of World Literature , ENG 111 - Survey of American Literature I , and ENG 112 - Survey of American Literature II . Teacher candidates for adolescence or middle school levels in foreign languages take EDU 342Z - Materials and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages .
