The Spanish Program focuses on the contributions of Spain, Latin America and Latinos/as in the United States through the study of language, literature and culture. The program takes advantage of the opportunities for on-site study of Hispanic culture through field work and the many cultural offerings of New York City.

The requirements for Spanish majors include the general requirements of the School of Arts & Sciences.

The major in Spanish consists of 36 credits earned in courses taken beyond the elementary level. SPA 101 -SPA 102  do not count toward the major.
