Art Therapy Program

Return to Academic Programs Return to: Academic Programs

The Art Department offers a pre-professional program in Art Therapy. Entrance into the field of Art Therapy at the professional level requires a master’s degree and graduate-level training in institutional or clinical programs. The American Art Therapy Association Education Committee provides guidelines for undergraduate programs that prepare students in the basic areas of the arts and the behavioral and social sciences. Utilizing these guidelines, the Art Department has developed an interdisciplinary undergraduate art/psychology program. (See Art Therapy under Art Department .)

Students interested in the pre-professional program in Art Therapy should consult the Chairperson of the Art Department.

Students who are interested in pursuing a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy have the opportunity to do so at the CNR Graduate School.
