The Bachelor of Science degree requires 60 credits in Liberal Studies and 60 credits in Professional Studies.

Required Courses

Included in the 60 credits of Liberal Studies are the following required courses:

I. Art Colloquia and Seminar - 12 Credits


B.S. Studio Art majors must pass colloquia and seminars with a minimum grade of C-.

II. Art History - 9 Credits

Included in the 60 credits in Professional Studies are the following required courses:

II. Studio Electives - 33 Credits

The B.S. in Studio Art requires an additional 33 credits in studio electives. A major may choose to concentrate her studies within Drawing and Painting, Computer Graphics and Design, Printmaking or Sculpture or combine courses in any of these areas to create a personalized studio concentration.

III. Senior Thesis, Internship, Senior Project, and Exhibit - 6 cr.

All B.F.A. candidates must register for ART 497Z - Senior Project  and ART 499Z - Senior Project II  in their senior year. A candidate for the B.F.A. degree participates in a group exhibit that demonstrates a proficiency with new work based on a theme or specialization. A senior who has demonstrated outstanding competency may be chosen by the Art Department faculty to present a solo exhibition.

All B.F.A. majors require an internship experience and must register for ART 495Z - Internship  in either their Junior or Senior year.
